Giveaway and Review of Casting Shadows by Sophie McKenzie

I am thrilled to be taking part in the blog tour for Casting Shadows today and hosting a fantastic giveaway to win a signed set of this series of books so far.

I am a huge fan of this series and opening up the first pages of Casting Shadows was like being reunited with two friends – River and Flynn. This is now the third book in the series and with each one, the characters grow and mature, but also I feel like I get to know them more and more.

Casting Shadows is another un-putdownable read from McKenzie that had me hooked from the very first page. As Flynn tries desperately hard to control his anger, he must also prove to River’s dad that he is responsible and willing to change. In Burning Bright, River and Flynn were separated and we didn’t know if they would be able to get back together. At the start of Casting Shadows, River has been forbidden by her parents to see Flynn again, but she knows that he has changed and wants to make things work out between them.

River is my favourite character in this series and she seems to have matured a lot in Casting Shadows. I also really loved River’s Dad’s character, we haven’t seen as much of him before this book and he comes across very caring and understanding.

The next book in this series is Defy the Stars and I can’t wait to read it. If you have started reading this series yet then I urge you to, it is fantastic, addictive and perfect to settle down with this summer.

This is another brilliant 5 star read from Sophie McKenzie.

Thank you to Simon and Schuster for sending me a copy to review.

We have one signed set of the series so far to giveaway (Falling Fast, Burning Bright and Casting Shadows). The giveaway is open to UK entrants only and closes on the 31st July 2013. To enter, please re-tweet this post or leave a comment below.
