Review of Dragon Jelly by Claire Freedman and Sue Hendra

Dragon Jelly cover

Spider Sandwiches was one of our favourite books last year and we were thrilled to receive a copy of Dragon Jelly, which is the second book by Claire Freedman and Sue Hendra.

Max is having a monster party to celebrate his birthday and it is full of ‘goo-licious’ food to eat. There are insects galore from pass the parcel with the prize of a next of worms and a magic trick where frogs start hopping from Max’s ear. Young and older readers will love this hilarious book that would make a great read for both boys and girls.

This is a really fun read that had us laughing out loud. We loved the bright vivid illustrations and descriptions of the yukky sounding food – such as the eyeball birthday cake with earwax candles!

Thank you to Bloomsbury for sending us a copy to review.
