Everyone has heard of soulmates. To some people the idea of a soul mate is finding your true love, whilst to others it is just a cynical idea and not something that happens in real life. Bourne has created a story about soul mates from a totally new angle and it was a fresh take on true love that was an absolute joy to read.
Seventeen year old Poppy does not believe in true love or soul mates. That is until she meets Noah. As soon as they see each other, both feel something and before long they are inseperable. However, the path of true love never did run smooth and when a series of strange weather patterns start occurring whenever Poppy and Noah are together. Surely this is just a conincidence? An international security agency don’t think so and will do whatever they can to make sure that Poppy and Noah are kept apart.
I loved this book and thought that the characters were brilliant, you really feel like you get to know them. It is a fast paced book and I read it over a couple of evenings.
Soulmates is an outstanding debut and Holly Bourne is certainly a new talent in the YA world. I am eager to read more by this author and highly recommend this book.
I love the cover too!
