This picture book is about the Littlest Bird who feels that her nest is too small due to all her brothers and sisters and that they and her parents do not take enough notice of her. So one day she packs her slippers, her toothbrush and things and sets out to find her own nest. The nests that she found were too small, or gloomy or drafty but then she found what she thought was a perfect nest. But when the egg in the nest hatched out she realised she missed her Mum and returned home to find that they had all missed her.
The book is a nice length for a bedtime story with bright and colourful illustrations. For parent s the book is easy to read and flows nicely as it is written in rhyme.
This is a great little story for children who are feeling a bit squashed out by other siblings! To help enable them to discuss how they feel and to help show them the grass is not always greener!
