Violet and the Hidden Treasure is the second book in this fabulous series by Harriet Whitehorn.
Violet and her Godmother Celeste go on holiday to India where she visits a beautiful palace and meets the Maharajah who lives there. The Maharajah and Violet get on well straight away and Violet is very taken with his pet cockatoo known as the Maharani. When Violet returns home she receives a surprise visit from the Maharajah’s butler asking her to look after the cockatoo as someone is trying to steal her. Soon Violet and her best friend Rose must do everything they can to protect the bird from cunning thieves who want to get their hands on the Maharajah’s fortune.
I absolutely loved this story and Violet is a fantastic heroine. It is action packed and full of surprises with some very funny moments.
This is a beautifully illustrated book with a stunning cover. It is such a great series and can’t wait to read the next instalment.
